Save the Greenhouse  

Save the Greenhouse is a coalition of concerned citizens - local residents, gardeners, environmentalists, members of the National Cathedral and individuals from all walks of life - who wish to save the Cathedral Greenhouse from closing on June 29, 2008. Save the Greenhouse Coalition seeks to find a workable path forward to preserve the Greenhouse which has been a part of the Cathedral Close for more than 60 years.

Our Goal

To preserve the historic Cathedral Greenhouse for economic, historic, social, educational and spiritual reasons.

The Save the Greenhouse Coalition sees the potential of the Greenhouse as a center for world class learning for children, a robust business for the Cathedral Foundation, a destination for gardeners and environmentalists, and a serene and spiritual experience for the thousands of friends of the Cathedral Greenhouse who patronize it every year.

Who We Are

We represent hundreds of people - local residents, gardeners, families, school children, environmentalists, Episcopalians, parishioners, donors, and individuals of all walks of life for whom the Greenhouse is a treasured extension of the Cathedral itself.
